
By fate, I mean a rematch with the San Francisco 49ers — the one team the Packers have the hardest time with, if recent NFL results mean anything.
Because fate has a sense of humor, the Packers once again began the 2013 season at Candlestick and now are set to host the same 49ers in the win-or-go-home Wild Card round of the playoffs. The Packers’ reward for winning the NFC North, despite starting four different quarterbacks through the course of the season (and the extended absences of several other key starters), is to try to advance their season against the team that holds the lien on their pride.
